Moved by Compassionate Care

Honoring the radiation oncology department at Saint Joseph Hospital was important to one special Saint Joe’s supporter. Patricia (Pati) Ann Tyler had a heart of gold and was moved by the compassionate care she received during her stay at Saint Joe’s. Pati included the Saint Joseph Foundation in her estate plans and upon her passing, the Foundation received $10,000 to support radiation oncology.

Although Pati was born and raised in Southern California, she moved to Colorado more than 30 years ago and quickly grew to love its beauty and its people. Even with a diagnosis of cancer, she continued to enjoy the mountains of Colorado, accompanied by her dog Bernie, up until she passed.

Pati’s cousin, Delanie McKendrick, who was the trustee on Pati’s estate and an RN caregiver herself, said, “Pati was so grateful for the care she received at Saint Joe’s. She especially wanted to recognize the loving, tender care she received from Dr. Ari Ballonoff and his whole team. I too would like to add my appreciation to Dr. Ballonoff, the Radiation Oncology team and all the others at Saint Joe’s who took such wonderful care of Pati.”
