An Anonymous Donor Honors His Late Wife’s Memory

Honoring his wife’s memory in a meaningful way was important to one special Lutheran supporter. Lutheran Hospice cared for his wife when she passed several years ago. Moved by the compassionate care his wife received and appreciative of the caregivers who worked with her, he established several gifts in her memory shortly after her passing.

This special donor included Lutheran Hospice in his estate plans and upon his passing, the Lutheran Foundation received more than $130,000 in the form of three separate gifts listing Lutheran Hospice as a beneficiary, one from his Trust and two from separate IRAs that he owned.

Although his wish was to remain anonymous, his family did share, “He felt such pride when he established these estate gifts and could not think of a better way to honor his wife and his family than through supporting the organization that helped them through such a difficult time. He wanted to share this legacy with others so there would always be a peaceful way to pass.”

Creating a legacy or honoring the memory of a loved one can be both meaningful and easy. There are many ways in which you can establish a planned gift that will create impact for generations.
